Synopsis

The Roundabout Theater Company presents Patrick Marber's After Miss Julie, directed by Mark Brokaw.

Film and stage star Sienna Miller stars in the production, which transposes August Strindberg's 1888 play about sex and class to an English country house on the eve of Labour's historic landslide in 1945. The cast also includes Jonny Lee Miller and Marin Ireland.

Review: Excellent show by mlesemann

I had the pleasure of seeing After Miss Julie last Saturday afternoon. The cast is terrific, and the play is both well-written and well-directed. Definitely recommended.

Review: After seeing Miss Julie you'll regret the hour and half... by keheiberg

I thought Patrick Marbers new version of August Strindbergs drama was wonderful and thought provoking material but was entirely unimpressed by what both Sienna and Jonny Lee Miller did with that material. They absolutely did NOT captivate or engage me in any way. Skip this production. If there was an intermission I would have left.

Review: After seeing AFTER MISS JULIE you will reflect upon it for hours. by sightlines

Outstanding drama. This is a deft update by a talented playwright and performed with insight by a remarkable three person cast who have been well directed to get the most of the material. This production is a joy to behold from even before the action begins as you can study the beautiful set that will suggests so much of what the drama will have to say. Kudos to the whole cast but Sienna Miller gives a thoroughly stunning performance in the title role. The play is true to Strindberg, true to the era it has been transposed to and true to the complex and still current themes it explores. This is theatre at its best.
