New Rep On Tour to Present Animal Farm in Boston Area Schools

New Repertory Theatre's New Rep On Tour will open its tenth season with George Orwell's Animal Farm, October 19-December 4, which will bring the production to 20 Boston area schools with a public performance at New Rep on Monday, November 2 at 7:30pm. Stefanie Sertich will direct.

This satire on Communism explores the animal takeover on Manor Farm to create a society where the community is supreme and individual existence is forsaken to serve the greater good. The cast will feature Cheo Bourne (Boxer), Danny Bryck (Benjamin, Snowball), Annie Kerins (Clover, Muriel, Moses), Scott Sweatt (Napoleon, Major), and Jessica Webb (Squealer, Molly, Cat).

The schools the production will visit include Dana Hall School (October 19), Heath School (October 20), Austin Preparatory School (October 21), Bourne High School (October 22), Tantasqua High School (October 23), Burlington High School (October 29), Mount Alvernia School (November 11), I.S.O.B (November 12), Billerica High School (November 17), Lynnfield High School (November 18), Brighton High School (November 19), Another Course to College (November 20), Pinkerton Academy (November 23), Boston Day and Evening Academy (November 24), Horace Mann School (November 30), Keene High School (December 01), Scituate High School (December 2), Boston Arts Academy (December 3), and Perkins School for the Blind (December 4).
